We Support Our Local Friends

Camp 4 Coffee is a locally owned business. We invest our dollars locally.

Biery-Witt Center: Anchoring the north end of Mountaineer Square Town Center, the Mt. Crested Butte Avalanche Center: Provides daily weather and avalanche forecast for the Gunnison Valley. The center posts new information daily on the Internet and reads the forecast on the local radio station KBUT. There are many backcountry enthusiasts in Crested Butte and the Avalanche Center does a great job to keep people informed of the snow and weather conditions.

Crested Butte Land Trust: the C.B. Land Trust seeks to protect the most beautiful and fragile of the undeveloped land in the East river Valley: view corridors, wildlife habitat, riparian areas and wetlands; as well as to preserve the local ranching tradition and provide access to public land. In its fifteen years of existence, the land trust has saved or helped to save more than 3,500 acres from development in perpetuity. Some of this open space has been acquired outright while other land has been preserved through conservation easements: the owners have sold or donated the right to develop while retaining ownership of the land itself.

The mission of CBMBA is to promote mountain biking opportunities in the Crested Butte area, which are environmentally sound and socially responsible. CBMBA assists the local US Forest Service by coordinating trail projects, which help repair damage done to trails by bikers and other users.

Crested Butte Mountain Theatre: The CBMT was started in 1972 by an energetic, talented group of people, who had a vision to see a remote community providing some of its own “culture” In its 30 year history, the Mountain Theatre has produced close to 200 plays. The theatre continues to offer a creative outlet for diversely talented people in the community: actors, writers, directors, dancers, artists, musicians, and technicians. The theatre involves as many people as have the time, energy, and a much-cherished sense of community. The theatre repays the community’s overwhelming trust and support with quality entertainment throughout the year.

C.B. Search and Rescue: If you are a resident or a visitor to Crested Butte you probably spend time recreating in the mountains. Shit happens, even to the best of us, and when it does it is nice to have someone to lend a hand. C.B. Search and Rescue will find you if you are lost, and rescue you if you are injured.

High Country Citizens Alliance: Since 1977, HCCA has been at work protecting the extraordinary natural areas of the Upper Gunnison River Basin. Conservation is at the root of all we do. Facing challenges large and small, we believe that integrity and cooperation are our best tools. This approach has enabled us to resolve many difficult issues over the years. Today, our programs range from preservation of our national forests, rangelands and water resources to land use planning and fostering sustainable communities.
